On Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, KSI and Logan Paul were discussing the necessity of healthy sleep for athletes. The YouTubers-turned-boxers discussed how they use nasal strips to help them breathe while sleeping, but Haaland revealed how he goes a step further and tapes over his lips.
“I think sleep is the most important thing in the world,” Haaland said. “To sleep good, simple kind of things like blue-blocking glasses, shutting out all the signals in the bedroom, I think is really important.”
Paul explained how he believes that nasal strips are the best way to improve sleep: “I’m sure you know, nostril breathing is the way forward…” before Haaland replied: “You should try and tape your mouth then. I sleep with it. Doing a lot of things is not good but doing small things every single day for a longer period really pays off.”
The topic quickly shifted to eating, with Haaland explaining what feeds his 6ft4 frame to let him defend against some of the world’s greatest defenders. As he displayed the cow heart and liver he received from his butcher, the Norwegian explained that he consumes them, as well as a drink consisting of milk, kale, and spinach.
In his documentary, Haaland: The Big Decision, he said: “You (other people) don’t eat this, but I am concerned with taking care of my body. I think eating quality food that is as local as possible is the most important.”

To maintain a 6,000-calorie-a-day diet, he eats his father’s handmade lasagne before every home game, wolfs down cow’s heart and liver, and drinks milk mixed with kale, which he refers to as “my magic potion.”
Haaland also only drinks water that has been filtered through a complex system, and he starts each day the same manner as part of a careful regimen to maintain him at the top.
“The first thing I do in the morning is to get some sunlight in my eyes — it is good for circadian rhythm,” he said. “I have also started to filtrate my water a bit. I think it can have great benefits for my body.”
