How serious was Kylian Mbappe’s injury when he received a viciоus tackle from Leonardo Balerdi?

PSG coach Luis Enrique confirmed that Kylian Mbappe did not have a serious injury despite having to limp off the field in the first half of the win over Marseille.

The French international received a nasty tackle from Leonardo Balerdi, forcing him to leave the field for treatment. After being treated by doctors, Mbappe tried to return to the field to continue playing. However, after only a short while, he was unable to continue playing and went straight into the tunnel. This caused fears of a serious ankle injury.

Speaking after the match, the Spanish coach gave an update on his student’s injury situation. He reassured that the pain was not as serious as some people feared by sharing: “His injury is not serious, but he was in pain. I think it would be better if he left the field (was substituted). It’s a disappointment, but he’s fine.”

Despite Mbappe’s absence, PSG still defeated their rival in the French derby with a score of 4-0. Achraf Hakimi scored a great free kick to open the scoring in the 8th minute and then Randal Kolo Muani scored his first goal in a PSG shirt in the first half. The home team continued to apply pressure and were rewarded. It was worth their efforts when Goncalo Ramos scored twice in the second half to seal an overwhelming victory for Enrique and his team.

For his part, Mbappe is in impressive form this season and has scored 7 goals in just 5 appearances in Ligue 1. He hopes to return to action when PSG takes on Clermont Foot on September 30 next.
