Real Madrid target Mbappe will play in Spain next year, according to La Liga’s president

The recent 3-1 loss to Atletico Madrid by Real Madrid brought to light some significant weaknesses in the team.

The team needed players with the explosive presence of Vinicius Jr. out wide or the finesse of Karim Benzema in the final third, particularly in the offensive unit.

Therefore, Real Madrid must enhance their attacking unit at all costs next summer, and Kylian Mbappe is the clear front-runner.

Javier Tebas is certain Mbappe will show up.

Real Madrid has been mentioned as a potential destination for Mbappe in the past. Over the last two years, he came quite close to joining Los Blancos, but the trade never happened.

In the midst of all the rumors, La Liga president Javier Tebas recently addressed the subject and asserted that Mbappe is almost certain to play for La Liga at some point in the future.

“Convinced, no, but it is a destiny for him, for sure. I think he will be in La Liga next season at 70 or 80 percent,” Tebas said (h/t SPORT) in a recent interview.

The comments from the La Liga president are another indicator as to how seriously Real Madrid could pursue the Frenchman next summer, though the club have their task cut out.

A sure-fire arrival next summer?

The season’s finish will mark the end of Mbappe’s current contract with PSG. Although there is a one-year contract extension option, the player has not indicated that he would like to continue at Parc des Princes for one additional year.

Real Madrid is now in a fantastic position to sign Mbappe in the summer. However, it won’t be a simple process.

The French player, who is sure to want a large signing bonus that exceeds €100 million, will cost the Spanish powerhouses a lot to sign.

Real Madrid’s finances are unlikely to be an issue, though, since Tebas has previously acknowledged that the team is in a position to sign Mbappe.
