Coach Ancelotti was taken aback when Jude Bellingham proceeded to score and equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous mark.
Bellingham’s great start at Real Madrid continued with a 4-0 victory over Osasuna. The 20-year-old equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2009 record of 10 goals in his first ten matches for the club. With three other assists, Bellingham contributed more goals in ten games than Ronaldo.
Coach Ancelotti stated after the win over Osasuna that no one anticipated Bellingham to find scoring form so early.
“Bellingham still performed as usual. He has a lot of opportunities in attack. The fact that he does not have a fixed position on the field helps him cause a lot of damage to the opponent. But no one expected a large number of goal contributions at this level.
It is easier to study and analyze a player who has a fixed position and Bellingham does not. He is playing very well. Whether he is the best player in the world right now or not is something we don’t care about. We are very happy to sign him and that’s it. He is very mature and always makes us forget that he is only 20 years old.”
