Report: Jürgen Klopp supposedly ‘willing to meet $32m clause’ for La Liga forward and André claim emerges

Liverpool made some excellent summer additions in the form of Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch, while Wataru End might be a nice stop-gap.

However, there is still work to be done over the next number of transfer windows. Signing a player in January might bring a similar boost to Luis Daz in 2022 and Cody Gakpo a year later.

Despite the addition of Jarell Quansah and the quality of Luke Chambers, Liverpool could definitely do with another center-back sooner rather than later. Jol Matip’s contract will expire at the end of the season.

Another midfielder would be great, with an elite holding player being a clear target for Liverpool after failing to sign Moisés Caicedo and Roméo Lavia, both of whom chose Chelsea, during the last window.

Here’s the Liverpool.com take on today’s transfer rumours, which include a defensive midfielder connected again and a teenage forward allegedly on Jürgen Klopp’s radar.

Real Betis’ Assane Diao

According to Spanish newspaper Fichajes, Liverpool is willing to pay the $32 million (£26 million/€30 million) release clause for Real Betis’ young phenom Assane Diao, who is making a significant impression.

The 18-year-old has only made four senior appearances for the La Liga club, but he has three goals, including one in the Europa League. Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

André (Fluminense)

André is still being linked with a January move to Liverpool in a never-ending narrative. The Reds do require a holding midfielder, and the 22-year-old could be the answer come mid-season.

Liverpool, according to 90Min, has continued to monitor André, particularly during the Copa Libertadores. Fluminense was desperate to maintain its talent for this competition, and it will now face Boca Juniors in the final on November 4.
