BUKAYO SAKA has been left out of England’s team for forthcoming matches against Australia and Italy

BUKAYO SAKA has withdrawn from England’s team for forthcoming matches against Australia and Italy.

The Arsenal star did not play in his team’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City, but he did report for England duty at St George’s Park earlier today.

Saka withdrew from the Three Lions squad after consulting with medical staff in order to continue his recovery at Arsenal.

England confirmed the decision in an official statement: “Bukayo Saka will not play in England’s matches against Australia and Italy.”

“On Monday, the forward arrived at St. George’s Park with the rest of the Three Lions squad.”‘

“Having missed Arsenal’s Premier League win against Manchester City on Sunday through injury, Saka was assessed by the England medical team and it was decided the player would continue his rehabilitation at his club.”

The statement went on to say that manager Gareth Southgate will not call up a substitute for Saka, who injured his hamstring against Lens last week.

On Friday night, England will play a friendly match against Australia at Wembley Stadium.

They will then face Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifier at the national stadium next Tuesday.

The Three Lions are on track to qualify for next summer’s competition in Germany.

Southgate’s team has 13 points from their first five games and is six points ahead of the second-placed Italians.

The top two teams in each group will automatically qualify for Euro 2024.

In Saka’s absence, England will have plenty of attacking options.

Man City duo Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, as well as Marcus Rashford and in-form players James Maddison and Ollie Watkins, join skipper Harry Kane.

Jarrod Bowen has been chosen as he celebrates signing a new long-term contract with West Ham.

While Saka’s Arsenal teammate Eddie Nketiah seeks his first senior cap.

Southgate’s midfield also includes LaLiga’s leading scorer, Jude Bellingham, who has eight goals in the Spanish top flight this season, three more than anybody else.

While Arsenal’s Declan Rice is also in the running.
