On Thursday night, Liverpool star Harvey Elliott put on a clinic for England Under-21s.
As the Young Lions crushed Serbia 9-1 in European qualifying, the Reds forward scored twice and assisted on a third.
Elliott has made an impression in the Liverpool senior team this season, appearing in nine games.
The Anfield standout will now look to build on his performance, which was perhaps the best of his career thus far.
England’s U21s were the first to concede, on 27 minutes, and trailed throughout the first half.
However, Jaden Philogene responded in the 38th minute, and the floodgates were fully opened from there.
The Hull City striker, Elliott, and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke all scored twice.
Lee Carsley’s troops added gloss to the scoreline with goals from Liam Delap, Nathan Rowe, and Luka Subotic.
Elliott scored his first goal for Liverpool in first-half injury time, blasting from distance into the top corner of the opposing net.
His next G/A contribution was a cross for Jonathan Rowe’s 89th-minute header, before the Liverpool ace sealed the victory with a clinical finish in the 91st minute.
He had 94 touches on the ball, five vital passes, four accurate long balls, and three accurate crosses.
The Liverpool star delivered a flawless performance. It will be wonderful to watch him continue to improve as a player.
