Ryan Gravenberch has found life at Liverpool to be a little easier than it was at Bayern Munich, when he joined from AFC Ajax in 2022.
The midfielder has two assists from five appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side, which is already more than he had to show for his thirty-three outings in all competitions at Bayern.
Gravenberch was rarely a starter in the Rekordmeister’s already crowded midfield, with the exception of a handful of games near the end of the Bundesliga season under Thomas Tuchel. He had made his dissatisfaction obvious, and on more than one occasion, he had publicly aired his issues about a lack of minutes to the press; not always the ideal tactic when trying to gain favor with any one management.
Gravenberch, on the other hand, got the opportunity to play alongside Jamal Musiala, whom he recently described as the best young player he has ever played alongside. “I’d go for Jamal Musiala,” Gravenberch remarked in a recent Sky Sports Premier League interview when asked about the best young player he has had the opportunity to play alongside (via @iMiaSanMia).
“Jamal does crazy things in practice and in games.” He’s impressive for his age. Jamal Musiala is my choice. I believe he has a chance to win the Ballon d’Or once in his life. He will continue to improve and become even better. There is a chance. He’s got some amazing dribbling skills.”
