Guler has been told by Luka Modric to give the Real Madrid fans his best when he finally makes his appearance.
After having surgery on his knee soon after joining the club this summer, Guler had another setback last month that sent him back to the operating room. He is still waiting to make his first start of the season.
This week, Guler missed Turkey’s international match against Modric and Croatia. He is now back in training, though, and working hard to make his long-awaited start.
Once Guler got back to training, Modric was full of praise for the 18-year-old. He can’t wait to work with Guler.
“I love him, what a great kid. He really wants to learn, get better, and listen. “He’s very skilled,” he said.
“Unfortunately, he got hurt when he came to Madrid. He then got better, but maybe he wanted to push things to happen faster because he wanted to show Madrid how good he was, and he hurt himself again.”
“I told him the other day that he needs to stay calm and take things one step at a time. I also told him that he’s young, so he has time to show Madrid fans how good he is.”
“Best of luck to him.” When he comes back, I hope he starts showing what he can do, but the most important thing about him is that he’s a great kid.
Madrid’s first game back after the international break is a trip to Sevilla, where fans hope to see the 18-year-old for the first time.
