‘SO SURPRISING’: Man Utd misfit finds new home, leaving West Ham worried about the deal

Several Italian clubs are apparently interested in recruiting Harry Maguire from Manchester United; this information will worry major Premier League bidders West Ham. Maguire works for Manchester United.

Given that Erik ten Hag does not include the England international in his long-term plans at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are reportedly open to hearing offers for the player in the new year.

Despite Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane being out of the game at various moments, Maguire was stripped of the captaincy at Old Trafford when Bruno Fernandes assumed the position. Since then, he has only started one Premier League game.

Over the summer, a move to West Ham was suggested for the 30-year-old, but it fell through when Maguire made the decision to stay and battle for his spot at United.

But with his lack of playing time remaining an issue, Maguire recently said, “I am not going to sit here and play once a month for the rest of my life.”

In light of the Hammers’ renewed interest following his remarks and the rumored interest from Saudi Arabia, it looks that he is at least open to leaving in the new year.

However, it is now being reported by talkSPORT that “a host of Serie A clubs, including AC Milan, are monitoring the situation.”

Maguire contemplating a transfer to Italy

Given that he has watched Chris Smalling succeed since moving from United to Roma in 2019, it is said that Maguire is amenable to a move to Serie A.

For England players hoping to stay in Gareth Southgate’s plans and receive consistent playing time, Serie A has proven to be a very appealing league.

Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, two former Chelsea teammates, have both had great success at Roma and AC Milan, respectively.

Tomori, a fellow member of the England squad, may become acquainted with Milan through their move. Tomori’s center-back partner at the San Siro, Marcelick Thiaw, is also being linked to West Ham.

Southgate is set to remain loyal to the former Leicester player by handing Maguire another start for England on Tuesday night at Wembley against Italy.

When he plays in the Premier League on Saturday night against Sheffield United, his home team in Yorkshire, he is probably going to be on the bench once more.
