‘Are you watching?’ – Man Utd fans send Facundo Pellistri message to Erik ten Hag

Facundo Pellistri’s performance for Uruguay in their World Cup opening against South Korea has thrilled Manchester United supporters.

Pellistri was acquired from Penarol and brought to Old Trafford in 2020. The then-teenage winger moved to Alaves in October and joined the first team in January to acquire experience.

In the summer of 2021, United decided to loan Pellistri to Alaves once more. In 23 games for the La Liga team, Pellistri did not record an assist or a goal. Pellistri has been in and out of the first team since the arrival of Erik ten Hag.

Pellistri has not yet played for the senior team, despite being on the bench several times. His lone game this season was with the U21s in the EFL Trophy, where they defeated Barrow.

Since then, the winger has expressed his desire for more opportunities to play for United under Ten Hag. Even though he hasn’t been given any opportunity at United thus far, he has support from around the world.

Diego Alonso, the manager of Uruguay, decided to select him in his team for the World Cup in Qatar. He played 88 minutes in a 0-0 draw between the South American powers and their Asian opponents. Darwin Nunez of Liverpool wasted the chance that Pellistri’s ball generated to give him an assist in the first half.

Meanwhile, Pellistri’s agent has made no secret of the fact that his client wants to leave United and is counting on a strong World Cup performance. Despite their distaste for him leaving, United supporters concurred on Twitter that Pelistri made an impression against South Korea. What they said was as follows:

How does Pellistri start for Uruguay in the biggest stage without having played a single minute for #MUFC? It says something about his qualities that we’re yet to witness.

Pellistri is rapid. Would like to see him get minutes for United, good alternative to Antony & would scare defences like Garnacho #Mufc #URUKOR

Will Ten Hag ever start Pellistri? First choice for Uruguay at the World Cup but can’t get a game for United, even when Anthony was injured. #MUFC
