Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior said he would go back to his old team “one day” while watching the Flamengo-Vasco da Gama match at the Maracana.

After ending his season with Real Madrid in Europe, the Brazil forward flew to Rio to take a short break from football. He was in the crowd at the Maracana when his old team, Flamengo, beat Vasco 4-1 in a match. There was a break in the game, and the forward came out to play.
Both teams gave him a shirt with their names and numbers on the back of it.”I’ll be back to Flamengo one day, but it will take a while.” I’m glad to be at Maracana, Flamengo, and a classic. I’m grateful for all they did for me.
“That I can stand strong and keep fighting for those who will come after me,” he said. Following Vinicius’s racist treatment in Spain during Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss at Valencia, Flamengo and Cruzeiro showed their support by sitting down for the first 36 seconds of their Serie A match in the last week of May.
They did this after coming out of the tunnel wearing t-shirts with a message against racism. During the game, Flamengo players wore shirts that said “All with Vinicius Jr.” to show support for him.
