The new Manchester United striker declined comparisons with Erling Haaland of Manchester City, stating it’s too early in his career. Haaland is already established as one of the world’s top strikers in the Premier League. The United striker prefers to focus on his own development and aspirations. Since joining Manchester United, he has made eight appearances and scored three goals. Haaland, on the other hand, had an exceptional debut season, scoring 36 league goals and 52 overall for Manchester City.
Speaking to TV2, Hojlund said, “I hope that one day I can reach his level, but right now, I think it is too early. Erling is in any case the world’s best striker, if not the world’s best footballer. I don’t really want to be compared to him, but I hope that one day I can be like him. Who knows? I am only 20 years old. We will have to see what it can end up with.”
Since his arrival at Manchester United, the Danish international has made eight appearances for the club, finding the back of the net three times. Prior to joining United, he had an outstanding season at Atalanta, scoring 16 goals in 42 appearances for the Italian club. In contrast, Haaland made a sensational impact in his debut season in the Premier League, scoring a record-breаking 36 goals in the league and 52 goals overall for Manchester City.
