Manchester City Shines in Ballon d’Or Nominations

Seven male players have been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, including Erling Haaland, Rodri, Josko Gvardiol, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, and Julian Alvarez. Three female players from Manchester City, Yui Hasegawa (Japan), Jill Roord (Netherlands), and Khadija Shaw (Jamaica), have also been nominated.

Manchester City has a total of 10 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or, reflecting their outstanding performances. Ferran Soriano, the CEO of Manchester City, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement of being named the best club for two consecutive seasons. He emphasized their goal to continue playing beautiful football and winning as many titles as possible.

In the historic 2022-2023 season, Manchester City achieved a remarkable treble. They won their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, secured their third consecutive Premier League championship, and clinched the FA Cup by defeating Manchester United 2-1 in the final. The Club of the Year award further adds to the success of their historic campaign.

Manchester City’s dominance is evident in the Ballon d’Or rankings, with three players in the top five: Erling Haaland (2nd place), Kevin De Bruyne (4th place), and Rodri (5th place). They also have two more players in the top 10, Julián Álvarez (7th place) and Bernardo Silva (9th place). The two center-backs, Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, are ranked 25th and 30th, respectively.
