OVER 12,000 Premier League games have been played, and very few of them have ever fully conveyed the exuberant, fast-paced mayhem of the league.
Cole Palmer, who Pep Guardiola let leave Manchester City this summer, scored Chelsea’s third equalizer in an intense and amazing afternoon with a penalty kick in injury time.

That negated a deflected shot by Rodri in the 87th minute, following two goals from Erling Haaland and a header from Manuel Akanji to put City ahead.
However, in a match that became an instant classic, Chelsea—who also scored through Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, and Nicolas Jackson—fully deserved their point.
This was the moment, if ever you could claim “football was the winner” while maintaining a straight face.
It was as though Tchaikovsky had written a thrash-metal song for a symphony orchestra, with a group of elite musicians competing at an intense pace.

Bernardo Silva scored from the left center after Reece James and Moises Caicedo clashed in the Chelsea box, and Cucurella got into a tangle with Haaland.
Reference At Stamford Bridge, Anthony Taylor is a hate figure, and when he pointed to the spot, Haaland scored with his left foot for his 18th goal of the year and eighth in the previous six. This did not help Taylor’s popularity rating.
Nonetheless, Chelsea had come out firing, leveling the score quickly.
Ederson pushed the elastic over the bar after Reece James curled a free-kick won by Enzo Fernades, who had first dove to win it.
After former teammate Palmer blocked out Haaland, Conor Gallagher delivered the corner, and Thiago made a crafty move at the near post to score with a downward header.
It was elegant and fast-paced. Phil Foden quickly entered the fray, scuttling past three players before putting the ball just deep enough for Haaland to volley into the side net.
Then Foden cut in, curving a shot that went just wide of the far post.
However, a move combining their two former City players saw Chelsea take the lead.
After Josko Gvadiol got into a tussle with James, Palmer first released him, allowing the Blues captain to center low for Sterling to tap in.
It was high-tempo, rip-roaring, lock-up-your-daughters football, with every man on the field playing like he had a machete in his teeth.
12Haaland added another two goals to his tally for the season and also registered an assist
Fernandes saw a deflected shot saved by the feet of Ederson, then Haaland controlled a Bernardo through-ball beautiflly and thudded a shot which Sanchez saved brilliantly.
Chelsea was looking unstoppable after Sterling had nutmegged Jeremy Doku and swerved past a few more defenders.
Naturally, City equalized at that point. Bernardo’s cross arrived in Akanji entirely unmarked, enabling the Swiss to firmly screw it home.
After scoring four goals in an almost 20-minute span, we desperately needed a break at halftime.
Ninety seconds after the restart, City had taken the lead again thanks to a move that their Nordic goal glutton began and completed.
Using a deft turn and pass on the halfway line, Haaland first skinned Caicedo. Foden then passed Alvarez, who crossed to the far post, where Haaland skidded in front of James to use his buttocks to push the ball over the line.
After Doku received an undeserved booking for diving, Jack Grealish took his place, and Pochettino substituted Mykhailo Mudryk for Enzo Fernandes, giving the impression that he was unwilling to temper the fierce attacking intent on show.
Head down, Palmer avoided four tackles but misfired on his attempt, which Ederson saved brilliantly.
Soon after, Chelsea had tied the score once more thanks to a brilliant ball from Gallagher to Mudryk, a feed from Caicedo to Gallagher, whose shot Ederson blocked, and a quick move by Jackson to score on the rebound.
Taylor appeared to overlook a Kyle Walker handball on the edge of the area, which infuriated Chelsea’s supporters once more.
However, Sterling soon robbed Grealish and found substitute Malo Gusto, who missed a fantastic opportunity.
Following some build-up work by Haaland and Foden, Rodri hammered a shot goalward, and Thiago extended his leg to deflect it past a defenseless Sanchez.
The drama wasn’t finished, though, as Gvardiol sent sub Armando Broja reeling with a careless challenge, Taylor signaled the spot, and Palmer hammered home the penalty past Ederson.
