After being released by Nike, Greenwood practiced with Getafe, his new team, while wearing seven-year-old footwear.
The attacker was spotted working out with his Getafe teammates in preparation for his La Liga debut later this month.
Greenwood kicked his first ball for Getafe.
He wore Nike boots that were seven years old.
Last year, Greenwood’s deal with Nike was canceled.
He continued to wear Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 boots even after his contract with Nike expired in 2022.
Greenwood was spotted working out by himself in a park a few days ago with his father. It has been over a year since he last practiced with the entire squad.
Greenwood showed up at the June jam in the park wearing black Nike Phantom GX boots.
Since being dismissed by Nike, he hasn’t signed a new contract with any footwear maker.
Although Greenwood appears to be more concerned with strength and fitness in photos taken at the gym, we don’t believe he is match fit.
A video of supporters urging Greenwood to practice on a pitch outside of Madrid was also published by Getafe.
“We love you Mason Greenwood” was written on it.
The 21-year-old goalscorer has been given a way to get back into football by the La Liga team.
“Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here,” he wrote in a message to them.
“I’m so glad to be here, and I can’t wait to begin.”
Getafe also put a picture of Greenwood holding up the blue home strip of the club on Twitter.
“Mason Greenwood ya esta aqui” (that’s English for “Mason Greenwood is here”) was underneath it.
The deal was revealed by the Spanish club just minutes before the end of the summer transfer window on Friday.
If he stays in Spain for a while, United will pay most of his £75,000-a-week salary. They will not charge a loan fee.
A club release also said, “The move gives Greenwood a chance to start over with his career away from Manchester United.”
“During this time of change, the club will continue to help Mason and his family.”
United had previously declared that he and the club had “mutually agreed” to part ways after investigating the reason for Greenwood’s detention.
After being imprisoned in October of last year, the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew all of its accusations against him in February.
If the club so chooses, Greenwood’s contract may be extended by one more year. He still has two years left.
If they had been unable to get rid of him, the club would have been forced to pay almost £8 million.
This follows the revelation of fresh details on Greenwood’s transfer to Getafe, including his £75,000 weekly pay and uniform number.
