Liverpool completely revamped their midfield this summer, and it’s fair to say the results have been mixed.
Alexis MacAllister hasn’t had the finest start to his Liverpool career, and neither has Wataru Endo or Ryan Gravenberch.
Dominik Szoboszlai, on the other hand, has appeared to be a very inspired addition thus far, and according to Steve Nicol, the Hungarian has been utterly perfect since joining Liverpool.
Nicol remarked on the Aldo Meets Podcast that he believes Szoboszlai has the potential to become a Liverpool icon in the coming years, and that he hopes he continues at the club for another ten years.
Szoboszlai is flawless
Nicol was effusive in his appreciation for the midfielder.
“The surprise was Szoboszlai.” He’s been smooth as silk. Everything he does is flawless, and he makes it appear effortless. It’s four games, and he’s been faultless in all of them. It’s too soon to bestow a halo on him, but if he keeps doing what he’s doing, this guy is going to be a Liverpool icon, and hopefully for the next ten years,” Nicol added.
