In what comes as yet another blow, Arda Guler has picked up a fresh injury in training today, Real Madrid have confirmed in an official statement.

“After the tests carried out on our player Arda Güler by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the left rectus femoris muscle. Evolution pending,” the statement read.

The Turkish prodigy had only recently made a comeback after an injury layoff following knee surgery.

Guler was really set to be called up to the squad for the match against Las Palmas tomorrow night after training with the entire team over the last several days. Carlo Ancelotti, the manager, has also suggested the same for the 18-year-old.

But just as the young star looked to be about to make his Real Madrid debut, he was taken out with yet another injury.

According to reports, the injury occurred during today’s final training session. Journalist Jose Luis Sanchez speculates that the young player may be sidelined for the next month.

Guler, 18, who has been praised for his exceptional skill but has yet to play in the Real Madrid colors because of physical issues, must deal with this tragic situation.

Guler’s debut as a Real Madrid player will now have to wait at least another month.
