Manchester United fans believe they have found confirmation that Anthony Martial will finally turn things around after noticing a detail in their defeat to Bayern Munich.

The Red Devils opened their Champions League season with a 4-3 defeat at the Allianz Arena, with goals from Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Harry Kane, and Mathys Tel.

The visitors were led by Rasmus Hojlund, who scored his first goal for the club since joining from Atalanta in the summer, and Casemiro (x2).

Erik ten Hag substituted Martial for Hojlund with nine minutes remaining in the game, and he looked energetic up front, contributing to his team’s second goal of the night.

Man United fans on social media took notice of the boots he was wearing, referencing his Nike sponsorship, which he will lose in June 2020.

He has only played in 21 goals since then, but supporters are confident he will improve now that he is wearing Nike footwear.

The last time Martial wore Nike-branded footwear, he scored 23 goals in all competitions.

During the 2019/20 season, he scored 17 league goals and six cup goals.

After realizing he was wearing Nike footwear, fans took to social media.

One X user wrote: “Martial is soon gaining back his form.”

A second commented: “Did better all game in 17mins than Rashford.”

A third added: “He might might be back.”

A fourth said: “He has gotten back his mojo.”

A Man United fan, however, argued: “This club used to be great, they used to celebrate big trophies, they now celebrate their nonsense striker wearing branded boots.”

Martial scored nine goals in all competitions last season and has yet to open his account this term.
