Erik Ten Hag Decides on Scott McTominay Transfer After Revealing the Midfielder’s Impressive Record This Year

McTominay was up for sale during the summer, with the likes of West Ham and Newcastle interested in the Scottish international.

McTominay came up with two vital goals against BrentfordCredit. However, a transfer, which could have seen McTominay move for up to £50million, failed to materialise. The 26-year-old had fallen down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.

But after his supersub performance against Brentford, when he scored two injury time goals to hand United victory, his importance to the team has once again been realised.

According to The Daily Star, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has dismissed the possibility of a January transfer for Scott McTominay. The Dutch boss believes that he cannot afford to lose another player from his injury-depleted squad.

Considering Manchester United’s recent struggles in finding the back of the net, McTominay’s impressive goal-scoring record could present a perfect solution for Ten Hag. Since scoring two goals against Cyprus in March, the Scottish midfielder has consistently contributed with a goal or assist every 89 minutes for both club and country.

With nine goals and one assist in 888 minutes of play, McTominay currently holds the best goal contribution record among all Manchester United players during that period.
